Personality
♡ LOYAL. Fiercely loyal to those whom she cares about, Demi is driven by an unyielding desire to protect and defend her loved ones. Once you've become her friend, you will not be rid of her easily.
♡ SOCIABLE. Demi's outgoing nature comes from working in her adoptive mother's tavern for much of her life. She's the type of girl who will strike up conversations with strangers for fun, or at the very least she won't turn down small talk. Hospitality has been hard-wired into her; she's the one making sure everyone's fed, comfortable, and in good spirits.
♡ STUBBORN. Though Demi often capitulates on small matters to keep the peace and placate others, she does have a stubborn streak when it comes to certain things -- especially when she feels like she needs to prove herself and her competence.
♡ NOSY. She is curious to a fault and is always asking questions. She likes to pick at threads, even ones she probably shouldn't be picking at...

Backstory
Demi was abandoned as a child on the doorstep of a tavern called The Sotted Sylph. Owned by a Hyur named Estrid Mulliner, the tavern was a bustling hub for a village once nestled in the Nine Ivies of the Twelveswood. Estrid raised Demi as her own daughter, naming her after the sauce that topped the tavern's signature omelets.Demi took easily to kitchen work, surpassing her mother's skills quickly. When she was grown enough, Estrid urged her to travel to Limsa Lominsa to study under the Culinarians, but troubles at home kept the Viera from leaving her mother's side. Their village sat close to Baelsar's Wall, and the Garleans' influence over their little slice of the Twelveswood became more and more present with each passing year. Demi often heard whispers of resistance in the tavern.Though the aftermath of the Calamity afforded the town some time, eventually the Garleans came for them. The raid was sudden and violent. The murmurs of insurrection had not gone unheard, and as Gaius' troops returned to their former power, the village had been deemed a liability to be quashed. As her home lay burning, Estrid demanded that Demi flee for Gridania. Demi begged her to come along, but the woman insisted she was too old to make the journey. It would be the last time Demi ever saw Estrid alive.With no weapon to her name and no combat training to speak of, Demi could do little but follow her mother's instructions. She fled her dying village, a heavy burden in her heart as she disappeared into the forest in the direction of Gridania. As she traveled across the countryside, she made a promise, to herself and to Estrid's memory: she would never be caught powerless to defend her loved ones again.

♡ Home, Sweet Twelveswood. Demi grew up in the Twelveswood near Nine Ivies. A number of hooks might be derived from her home:---Her adoptive mother, a Hyur named Estrid Mulliner, ran a tavern called The Sotted Sylph which was once a locally-known waypoint and may have been familiar to those who likewise grew up in the area.---Though her village was small, there are also some who would have been aware of its destruction by the Garleans - and perhaps even lost friends or kin in the process.
♡ Culinarian Dreams. One of Demi's biggest dreams and goals in life is to open her own tavern or restaurant someday, and her many side-jobs are in service of financing this goal. Have any business advice? She's all ears.
♡ A Bunny Far From Home. Demi did not grow up in typical Viera fashion. Her blood parents' whereabouts are unknown; she was raised by a Hyur. She is woefully unknowledgeable about her own kind but yearns to learn more of its traditional culture should anyone be willing to become a mentor.
♡ An Eager Student. Demi's relatively sheltered upbringing has led her to be rather uneducated about Eorzea at large. Her adventures have taken her to many places, but there is still much to learn. She would love to hear of anything you would have the patience to teach her.
